Hi Martin!

I'm writing because yesterday i've used vMix with some issues on the recording.
For a reason, vMix dropped about 300 frames on each recording of about 20 minutes. I can't find the exact moment because i'm with my head on the delay module and titles, and i see the dropped counter in some spontaeous times.
In the detail i can see that the problem is in the origin. I want to ask you if there is a way to know if the problem is the capture card, or is the camera?
I use Adobe Premiere downloading dv tapes without problems of dropped frames.
Thanks in advance.
Regards

There are two main causes for dropped source frames, graphics card or capture card.
Could you provide your complete system specs including graphics card and capture card.

Thanks,

Martin

Hi Martin!
Thanks for your answer!

Yesterday i used vMix again, and checking, i saw that the dropped frames increases when i start playing a stored video delay at 50% (at least, i use that value). When i check the PGM record, i dont see (and hear) any problem.

So, it's logical that when you uses slow motion, you will have repeated frames, but i think they shouldn't plus in the dropped frames counter. Just a suggestion (and should be a big red light that shows when recording drop frames).

Core i7-2600K LGA1155 3.4GHZ
RADEON HD 6850 775M 1GB DDR5 HDMI DVI VGA
Motherboard ASUS P8H67 B3
RAM 2 x Kingston 4GB 1333 DIMM
Power: KC-CFA 780w

Capture card:
ENCORE ENL1394-PCI (3 DV inputs)

And vMix SD.

Thanks!!!
Regards.

Not the best capture cards to use, i once used that card (ENCORE ENL) and had to change it, i would however recommend using (DarkCrystal HD Capture Pro form AVerMedia)http://www.avermedia.com/product/ProductDetail.aspx?Id=528
And this is if you don't have a Black Magic Design Card. works well

Guztavo,

Your system specs all look ok and would work fine in HD if you chose to upgrade in the future.
The dropped frames you are seeing is the result of the frame rate of a slow motion video delay.
This indicates vMix is correctly duplicating each frame to make up for the difference, this will still show up as dropped frames but the
final recording should still play back as per normal.

Regards,

Martin
