I frequently record lecture capturing sessions that will last 8-10 hours. The powerpoint I capture via desktop capturing.

This is set to 60 frames per second (for videos played) but when there is no action the framerate is lower. The stats count the missing frames as dropped.

I frquently check this (actually the dropped frames on the camera and then reset counter to zero).

Last thursday at the end of the day the last 15 minutes or so: the desktop capture input froze... the powerpoint continued as normal (I have this on a seperate laptop conected to the beamer).

I can not think of anything else than maybe the DROPPED FRAMES COUNTER running into a maximum dropped frames number and freezing.

I can not restart the desktop capture, actually have to remove the input. restart the desktop capture app on the pp laptop and restart. But This can not be done in mid session.

2 points here:

1. why count dropped frames on the NDI input?
2. can the dsktopcapture input be set to a fixed framerate, pe PAL 25 and just send those frames even if there is no movement...

Please confirm about the max dropped frames count and if this could be a reason for the input to freeze...

cheers Stefan
