I am new to VMix, I know my Cannon will not work. I'm looking to spend $600 or $700 dollars on a camera. Please recommend one.

Depends on if you are looking for a DSLR or a camcorder. For a camcorder, look on Adorama or BH Photo, also try their used sections. I've bought used ones from both companies with no problems. Or look for a new close-out. In your stated price range, Sony, Canon and Panasonic camcorders should all work well.

Sony FDR-AX43 Ultra HD 4K Handycam Camcorder https://www.adorama.com/us1333721.html

If you use eBay, you might be able to find a Canon HF G21 at just over $600. Good camcorder, I have one. There are Canon G30 and G40 units on eBay but at that price range they might be pretty tired, and not worth buying.

I mainly use Canon camcorders, but if you can stretch your budget the Sony FDR-AX43 is 4K versus only 1080p for the Canon G21.

Do you have a capture device?

Probably not what you're looking for at all, but I'll post it here for somebody else that might come along.

I've been playing with using 3 'MEVO Start' cameras using NDI. For me these are a reasonable fit because I travel and they are small with built-in batteries (makes getting through TSA easier). Also, I don't mind being limited to 3 simple fixed angles. There is some tech in the MEVO APP for panning, zoom, live follow... but I don't use it.

Pros:
NDI with vMix
Small & simple
Wireless
Simultaneous recording to micro SD
Long battery life (6 hours)
Decent low light performance

Cons:
Need to buy separate network cable adapter (NDI WiFi unreliable in less than perfect conditions).
Have to use smartphone APP
APP to control device is a little clunky
Fixed lens (no depth of field)
