Vmix Shortcuts can be assigned to keystrokes on the keyboard, but it would be great to be able to assign them to midi controllers directly. I'm currently running a midi-capture software which converts my midi-inputs to standard keyboard inputs, to allow me to assign midi events to vmix shortcuts. It works really well, but the additional 3rd party software is an unnecessary overhead. The best implementation of this would be to have some sort of midi-capture on the shortcuts setup menu, so you could press a midi key, and then assign a shortcut to that key, rather than the current dropdown list 'key event' selection. http://www.bome.com/products/miditranslatorthis is the 3rd party software i'm using. http://www.behringer.com/EN/Products/CMD-PL-1.aspxI have one of these as a midi controller, works great for the replay app, as well as being able to trigger assigned videos with one touch.

I have a Novation Launchpad that I would love to use like my XKeys controller that no longer seems to coexist with Windows 7 and above. The launchpad allows for both red and green button backlighing, so it would be much better for returning feedback to the user than the XKeys as well.
I have Bome's MIDI translator as well, but as stated, that's an additional resource overhead to worry about.

I too have the Novation Launchpad, but never had enough time or a lot of success using Bome's MIDI Translator. My feeble efforts were no better than using the keyboard and so I abandoned the attempts... It would be nice to be able to use all the options available on the Launchpad, such as the backlighting and 'sub-page' functions but that might require actual "programming" for vMix to take advantage.

I had the will to buy a controller but I wasn't sure I could use any software to relay to vmix... If vMix had the support, it would be a great door for more hardware!

Sounds really good! Especially ASIO support and recording options. But as always: MIDI support would be one of my favourites.
