ive followed instructions and watched video Tutorials, i can make virtual audio cable work outside of vmix, but when i add audio input in vmix, i get heavily distorted audio, i have many ways of outputting it to different devices, still dont work. Maybe theres a new problem with vmix? Help and Merry Christmas to All

Would be happy if you give your setup....just saying that it is distorted can mean many things, but I believe you should do the following first...

Check your input levels to vMix...check also to see if you have your input in 'aux' or 'mic'.......

What is the source of the audio for Line input 1? Is that audio level too hot?

I looked at the image you posted, and the audio level from the VLC player is way too hot, you need to lower that to about 50%, and then go into the audio settings for the vMix input, and check the audio input levels,

thats what it sounds like, but i adjust the levels in vmix and windows and there is no change,so many fine adjustments, this is not a very easy thing to do? i went from vlc out line 1 to audio repeater then out of that line 4 then used adobe audition to record line 4 wich would be like adding line 4 as a input in vmix, the recording went fine in adobe, vmix still a loud hot mess.

While I have a license for VAC I switched to using VoiceMeeter Banana since it was introduced a year ago. It's not entirely as capable, but it's dramatically easier to use. It's more like a traditional audio mixer, with multiple virtual devices. Doesn't hurt that it's free and not licensed.
