Hello,
As a technical solutions company we are currently working with the leading sports broadcast giant in India Hotstar. The performance of Vmix has really impressed our engineers and we are looking forward to do business with the company. But there are few of our requirements/features, if implemented in the software can give us a complete package. We need to know how open is the Vmix product team to customise the software as per customer's requirements. It may add on to the cost of the software and we are ready to bear the price.
1.Please let us know how Vmix can help us configure a redundant setup? Incase my primary sever fails the backup server should be up and run in parallel.
2. We want to integrate video delay in the software. The software should be capable of delaying the source/output by atleast 1 to 10 minutes. At present the software can delay the in short clips and we have to keep pressing the rec button. We require the software to delay the source/output continuously. This will help us get two outputs. One which is live and one which is delayed by 1 to 10 minutes.
3. We require Asrun logs or activity logging to be done by the software. The logs should contain Name of the input switched on the pgm, duration, start time (time at which it was switched on the PGM), end time (time at which it was removed from the PGM). All the durations should be in "hh:mm:ss:ff" format.
4. In the playlist window there is no counter. Also the duration of the clip is not available. The playlist tab should give the total number of clips added on to the playlist and the clubbed duration of the added clips. It should also allow the operator to add the traffic id, comments about the clip and duration of the clip in"hh:mm:ss:ff"
5. We are happy with the recording feature of the software but it would be great if it can also Transcode the VOD files into multiple renditions.
6. Can we allign / position the ticker as per our requirements? Also control the movement of the ticker.
7. Decode the audio of UDP stream in other modes apart from AAC HBR.
Regards, Sagar Shirke

+1
I agree on following: 1) Preview of a redundant setup 4) Playlist feature: Total number of clips on to the playlist + the total duration of the clips 6) Title text-Alignment button next to duration (as shown in the attached picture) 7) Audio input from UDP streams
Disagree on: 2) Software video delay.. How should it be achieved to delay video up to 10 minutes? In the RAM?

Hello Stigard,
It could be achieved by capturing the input/source for 10 minutes and the release it as the file grows.

+1 for redundant setup
For the other requests: many of them will require a very beefy machine, or can be achieved already by using multiple machines and some add on software, which will improve general stability as well. For example 5 will have a big impact on a running system, but could be handled by using external output into another machine where a cheap software such as indytek's capture software is used in multiple instances to capture into any codec you can imagine.
As a sidenote: vmix is being used by many in some of the biggest productions in the world already. If you follow along in the forums you will notice many pro's are residing here. I think it's fair to say Martin keeps up with most requests which get lots of +1 and adds in some things by himself which are quickly adopted in most people's workflow. Off course I can not speak for him, but as far as I've understood he tries to keep up with the software in a way that suits the majority of the people. No idea if features are added in on a paid basis, but as far as I understood it doesn't work like this.
