My broadcast machine is a Core i7 3770k overcocked to 4.2Ghz with a ATI Radeon 7850. For capture cards, the machine has 2 AverMedia C985 cards getting an HDMI 1080p feed from two other computers. There are also two Logitech C920 webcams attached to the broadcast machine, both running at 1080p.
With vMix sitting idle (ie, not streaming, recording) I am getting a Render time under 10ms. However, once I start recording & streaming the render time bounces between 13+/- to 35+/-. And then I open Skype and give it the vMix External feed as it's camera and now the render time bounces between 50+/- and over 100.
I thought the Radeon 7850 was a pretty powerful card, but it appears I need something much stronger. Any suggestions?

Hi, Check your settings against the Optimal Settings section here: http://www.vmixhd.com/knowledgebase/article.aspx/32/optimising-performanceIf everything is fine, try setting things up without any cameras added. I have seen the C920 do all sorts of strange things on some systems including increasing the render time. 7850 is certainly fast enough to do what you're running. Also check your CPU usage in vMix when recording. Regards, Martin vMix
