Recording Glitch - 1 FPS Recording - Streams/Render Times Normal

Hello! My first post, I’ve been enjoying vMix but I’ve experienced a new and very odd issue over the last two days!
I’ve been recording, for maybe 30 minutes or so and then randomly my recording will start dropping 24 out of 25 frames and leave me with a 1 FPS record (as listed by the record button) and if I then try and stop the recording, it hangs the software until it’s force quit. Videos still play but shortcuts don’t work and it basically becomes unusable.
But if I leave the recording running whilst its dropping all those frames on the recording, the actual streams / everything else works fine. Render times sit happily between 5-10 MS without issue.
I put the first time down to a one off glitch but it seems to have come back again, I used a fault tolerant mode this time and the recording works up until the moment it started dropping frames and there is no data beyond that.
I’ve checked the record log and it was listed as dropped frames from hard disk / cpu as the reason for the dropped frames. Worth noting I changed the hard drive between these two sessions so it happened on a fresh drive.
The setup for the session was 6-7 calls, 1 VT list, 2 NDI outs stream and record.
System is i9 and 5700xt with 32GB 3200 RAM.
Record was originally on HDD but then attempted on SSD. I’ve tried making the issue happen again by running long record tests but I can’t get it to go! Weird one!
Any thoughts?

Are you running some remote software like teamviewer. That's where I saw similar issues.

Hello! I have Google Remote Desktop but it wasn’t active during the issues!
I just keep wondering how the recording can get stuck at just 1 FPS yet the production runs fine outside the recording!

Hi,
Turn off "Use Hardware Encoder" in the recording settings, as you are using an AMD graphics card which have a number of bugs and issues with their hardware encoding unfortunately. We recommend NVIDIA graphics cards for best results.

Hello Martin! Thanks for getting back to me!
I’ll try and not use hardware encoding and report back! It’s very strange as it’s been working great without issue for months!
Have you seen that behaviour of the recording getting stuck at 1 frame before and just endlessly dropping those frames? I’ll be getting an Nvidia card in the near future, do you still recommend 2080TI over the 3000 series at this point? I think drivers are abit off still with the new cards from other forums I’ve seen!
Thanks very much!
