I've just started getting an issue with vMix crashing. I open my preset which I have been using for our show every week for about a year. Everything loads fine and plays out without issues.
The problem is occurring when I click on the Record cog (settings) icon down the bottom. vMix just sits there and thinks about it for about 30 seconds and then crashes. When I reopen the preset it may or may not do it again.
My computer has plenty of capacity... i9, 32GB ram, m.2 SSD's etc etc.
Any thoughts?

Please drop us an email to info@vmix.com.au as we will probably need to diagnose over TeamViewer. There seems to be a rare issue that is the combination of a recent Windows update and the Blackmagic MJPEG codec. We can't replicate it on our systems so are hoping we can run the diagnostics on a system where this occurs. Thanks, Martin vMix

Hi,
We have the same problem. So, the "solution" we have found is to save before entering the rec option. When we click on the rec settings it crashes. We re-open it and then we can click on the rec settings without any crash.
We have i7, 16gb ram and gtx1060.

Hi, I think this issue is related to an installed codec that does not correctly support 64bit. When opening the recording setup for the first time, vMix will open each codec installed on the system to retrieve information about it. If that codec has a 64bit memory bug, it will crash if vMix is already using a lot of memory, such as with a preset open with a large number of inputs. To track down the offending codec and disabling it (it is likely not even used by vMix) try the steps below: 1. Download Autoruns https://docs.microsoft.c...rnals/downloads/autoruns2. Run Autoruns by right clicking it and selecting Run as Administrator 3. Click the Codecs tab 4. Look through the list under "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Drivers32" You can try disabling each one by one (uncheck the box next to it to temporarily disable). Then start vMix again each time to test until the problem codec is found. For example the ajavfw codec has this issue and can be safely disabled as it is no longer included with the latest AJA drivers. If you are able to identify a codec causing the problem, please post information about it here so we can block it in the next vMix update. Thanks, Martin vMix

I have done a recent windows update and now I can't replicate the issue. No not sure what's going on here... I've got another show tonight so I'll see what happens.

I spoke too soon. It just did it then. I'm disabling the codecs now to try and work out which one it is on my machine.

Had a vMix crash - soft of - while going LIVE. Stream was going fine for about 45 minutes. Tried editing Title then it just froze but didnt freeze the stream - just that I cant do anything else.
Was lucky that camera switching was via DataVideo so the show continued. Which in the autorun should I disable?

This is a rare issue that only occurs on systems with some faulty codecs installed and in presets using more than 4GB of memory.
For most users it should not be something you need to worry about.
