vMix 25 Preview (25.0.0.10 Beta) is here!

Disclaimer: This is a preview release for those who like to live on the edge! There will still be some bugs, so it should not be used in productions.

Updates: If you purchased vMix prior to 1 January 2020, an additional purchase is required to use this beta or a new Trial may be possible if you have only used the Trial once in the past. Finally, an edition upgrade (say from HD to 4K) will also include 12 months of free updates.

New Features and Changes


* LiveLAN
New built in streaming destination, streams to the vMix Web Controller which can be watched from any HTML5 browser on the local network

* More Categories
Up to 16 more categories can now be added with custom colours and labels

* NDI 5
vMix 25 now includes built-in support for the latest NDI 5.
Note, many NDI 5 features are in the free NDI Tools NDI.tv so check that out for more information.

* Preset Bundles and Offline file improvements
Preset bundles can now be saved which include most media assets like videos, images and titles in a single preset file.
Improvements have also been made to existing preset files, if files referenced cannot be found, a single window can be used to locate these prior to opening.

* Added additional virtual sets
* Added support for all the latest AJA capture devices such as Corvid 44 12G and T-Tap Pro. This requires updating the AJA driver to version 16 or higher, available from the AJA web site.
* Added support for custom keyframe frequency in SRT output encoder (defaults 2 seconds).
* Added option to disable NDI preview thumbnails when adding sources, useful for networks with hundreds of sources that may consume excessive bandwidth to generate thumbnails.
* Web Controller and TCP API now restrict access to users on local network only by default.
This can be disabled if needed in Settings
* vMix is now 64bit only. This is due to 32bit only Windows versions no longer being supported.
* New activators: InputAudioAuto, OverlayXAny, BusXSolo, VideoCallSourceOutputX
* New shortcut: OverlayInputXLast
* Various minor bug fixes and improvements

I gave the bundle a try, and it did bring a bunch of files in to the zip, but I don't believe it updated the preset to point to this new internal copy of the files. Looks promising though!

EDIT: Can the locate file dialogue do a bit of smart matching in terms of if multiple things are in the same old location and look ahead to see if they are also in the new location?

EDIT 2: Note: Lists do not get triggered by the locate file dialogue and are listed with the path blank.

EDIT 3: When a .vmixZip file is first made, the file references the original location of the assets like a preset would normally do. But after the bundled file is opened in vMix, it unzips itself to a temp directory and rewrites the references to the local copies. However, lists seem to not be included, so that's why my screenshot was blank above (because those are all lists in my preset).

Strange:

Last added Shortcuts and scripts do not transfer from v24 to v25 for the LAST preset file

double install of vMix , separate folder for v24 and v25.
adding shortcuts and scripts to v24 project , close and open v24 and use last preset , all shortcuts and functions there
close v24 and open v25 , open Last prest , inputs etc looks all fine until one looks at the shortcuts and scripts , recently added not there , all others are
Back to v24, missing shortcuts and scripts are back

Have not noticed this happening between other sequential Versions before

24 and 25 will use separate main configs once installed, so you won't see any of the global shortcuts / scripts in 24 you added in 25 and vice versa.
This has always been this way between different versions, and is why we recommend only having one version installed on a computer at a time.

As for the bundle, it only includes assets needed by most input types, it does not expand the preset with any settings that are global in nature, so in that respect it should be the same as 24.

yes, there are a few known issues with some inputs in the bundle preset which will be fixed in the next beta update.

Can Version 25 be installed on the same machine as V24 and not cause issues? I want to begin testing it but can't overwrite my existing version since it is used in productions.
