Dear Martin,
could you please add vMix' version to the status output when calling api without parameters? This would help my (and others') application to decide wether it is talking to the right version of vMix and, if the version is too old, tell the user. My application relies on the new api functions and won't work with vMix 9 and older, so i'd like to check on start.

Web-API, Input=936DA01F-9ABD-4d9d-80C7-02AF85C822A8 (or some other guid)
It seems, most functions default to input "preview" whenever the given GUID is not found. I'd prefer the functions to fail / do nothing if the given parameter is a non existent guid (that is: it's a formally valid guid, but it doesn't exist). Defaulting to preview is fine though when there's no input specified or the given parameter is not a guid (e.g. an input number).
In other words: please make it so that vMix just ignores all commands that contain non-existant guids! This way there will be no undesired effects if a user manually closes inputs while vMixScheduler is still running.

One more thing i found: "blank" input seems to be locked to a 4:3 aspect; e.g. if output is 720p and vmix is transitioning from a 16:9 clip to the blank input there are borders at the left and right side:

Just a reminder everyone that new features should not be requested here. Bugs and minor updates can be posted here but everything else should go in the Feature Requests forum.
macjaeger,
The next update will fix the default to preview functionality in the API and display the version in the XML information. Out of curiosity, do you currently look for the "vmix" root element when parsing the XML? I would like to change it to "xml" for the final release, but only if it won't impact any existing applications.
Regards,
Martin

Yepp, i'm parsing the XML, looking for "vmix/input/inputs" nodes - but that can be changed in a jiffy, so feel free to transition to "xml" anytime. I can even add code to look for both until then, so there won't be any problems. Thank you for your continuos support of third party developement!

Looking at shortcuts and the list of keys, there are some double entries (like "Page Up", "Next", "PrintScreen", ...) and one or some are missing (like "Page Down"). So it's impossible to configure the "Page Down" key that is used by USB-Presenters. I think it's the same with V9 and V10.

Thanks ovinas for showing that, I've mentioned it before but have chosen to work around rather than push for a fix, but I think it needs fixing. I would also perhaps like to see a reference chart or graphic in the wiki that would certainly help with some of the more obscure key references since I have no idea what they are.

Currently playing with 10.0.0.38 and no matter what overlay settings i use on the output settings all overlays always show on both the full-screen and the external/record, my plan was to use the overlays and full screen out to drive studio set plasma displays and having overlays 1 & 2 only on the full-screen , 1 having a holding graphic for the plasmas and 2 for any VT's and then just fade the vt to main mix when i want it fullscreen on the record/tx. and leaveing overlay 3&4 for only rec/tx for on screen graphics names ect
is this is bug or am i doing something wrong?
cheers
Ian

@ Martin Is it safe to assume that the duplicate key selections (Page up, Next and Print Screen) refer to said keys and are simply "typo's" in the window selection screen?

Ian,
There are currently a few bugs in the separate overlay functionality that will be fixed soon.
IceStream,
The duplicate key selections are there because some keys have multiple names. However due to a bug in how the dropdown box is displayed, the second name does not appear.

Martin vMix
