Hey, there. Great work on this new feature which has worked great for the vast majority of situations that I've encountered thus far - except for one
Has anyone had any issues with corporate firewalls? I'm trying to connect to a client but he's not able to send his video/audio nor is he able to see mine. He can use the chat feature just mine but he can't see/hear me and vice versa.
Did some research and the ports 80/443 at least need to be open and they are. So what am I missing here.
Any input here would be grand.
Kind Regards,
Tony Lightfoot

Hi
Information was not given yet to know if vMixCall uses a STUN or TURN service for NAT traversal. I guess so... If so, more ports are to be open and used. I didn't check my own router firewall to find out which ones.
Also WebRTC is known not to work well with Symetrical NAT.
A proxy server might also be a cause for vMixCall to not work.
Another reason might be the bandwidth usage quota or the type of data being uploaded (here AV streams) that is possible to filter out as they can be potential security risks.
This is not specific to "corporate" firewalls, but rather to all "finely tuned" firewalls.

vMix Call uses a combination of STUN and TURN, if a direct peer to peer connection is not possible it will try to use TURN.
In both cases though, UDP needs to be allowed through any firewall for a call to work.
Most NAT setups should work fine.

Thanks for that Martin
Did you stick to UDP 3478 and 3479 for STUN? What are the ports used for TURN? Does it also require fixed ports for RTP or are they arbitrary allocated in a range?

Specifications as follows:
TURN/STUN: Port 10349 UDP Video/Audio Streams: Dynamic Port Allocation UDP - 49152-65535
Dynamic port allocation is a requirement on the browser side, so the above entire port range needs to be allowed on certain restrictive corporate firewalls.
For most broadband firewalls, this is all taken care of automatically, it is only in corporate firewall scenarios where all UDP traffic is blocked that there might be some trouble.

Martin vMix

could it be possible to make a call only on local lan, without web access, using vmix pc ip address?. I have finally managed to make a good quality call from 2 pcs, one equipped with blackmagic intensity pro cam with 1080p camera input via hdmi. With call stats i could see i finally had 25fps and around 2Mb bandwidth.

I assume you are using Android? We have limited it to SD resolutions at this time as even on the latest Galaxy S7, 720p is low frame rate and causes the phone to get very hot!

Regards,
Martin vMix Yes it's Android but we need at least HD (1280x720 50P) with a middle or high bandwidth the phone does it, if we use wowza or nimble as server but vmixcall will make it easier to setup the whole system
