@ Mack
What exactly is the issue you are having? Overlay shortcuts are assigned to individual inputs on a specific channel (1/2/3/4) and there are 5 options for shortcut actions (6 if you count Preview) namely "On(blank)/In/Off/Out/Zoom". The first option acts the same as clicking the 'Overlay' button, it will activate and de-activate (On and Off) the Overlay, and is probably the most functional option. The others are more specific and only do the one action. Midi devices, AFAIK, have dual stage buttons and I have found they behave like double clicks of the mouse, so in the case of activating an overlay channel, it's like ON and OFF again with one push of the button. (I have found my MIDI device, the Novation Launchpad, to be unusable for such functions in vMix for that very reason)

Hi Mack I have attached an APC Mini Template that you can use to label the buttons on the APC Mini Its in Illustrator format but if you need PDF let me know. Just change the labels of the inputs. File Attachment(s): APC Mini MIDI-Overlay Layout-Blank-Template.zip (908kb) downloaded 172 time(s).You cannot view/download attachments. Try to login or register.

Ice Hi Ice My issue is that i wanna be able to use DSK to control the overlays, instead of assigning four overlays to 1 input, so i don´t have to use 8*4(8inputs)*(4Overlays)=32 pads. But rather use 12 pads 8 overlays and four DSK. I wanna make shortcuts like this on my Akai Mini. http://www.forums.vmix.c....aspx?g=posts&t=5713

I think that goes beyond the functionality of "Shortcuts" and it's integration for use with MIDI devices (at this point in time). To the best of my knowledge, "Shortcuts" are singular functions assigned to a specific key, not compound actions such that one key (button) can trigger the 'Overlay' channel of any 'Input' if that input is pre-selected with another button (or key). I'm not sure how thecloudmediagroup has scripted their Control Surface, but I'm pretty sure it's a lot more involved than just assigning "Shortcuts". Perhaps a feature request is in order...

The "advanced" tab in the shortcut settings will allow you to fire off other shortcuts. I'm using this to mute Skype audio channels and switch automix on and off with a single midi command.
Alternatively, according to the help:
"Multiple functions can be easily assigned to as single keyboard or controller button press.
To do this, simply add multiple shortcuts, assigning them to the same button.
When the button is pressed they will be called in the order in which they appear in the Shortcuts list. Use the up and down buttons to change the order if necessary."

Yes, the 'Advanced' tab allows you to trigger other "Shortcuts", but that doesn't really address Mack's wishes of reducing the number of required shortcuts. Nor does applying multiple functions to a button simplify his operation. The only 'workaround' that I can think of that comes close to what he is asking for is to assign his four DSK Shortcuts to "Overlay" the "Preview" screen and assign his 8 overlay input shortcuts to display in "Preview". Not the best scenario, but it will work.
