I have seen this before, but can't find it again. How do I stream directly from vMix to the new Livestream platform. I have installed Livestream producer. When I choose the input, I select vMix but only get the color bars. Thank you.

Is vMix's "External" button on? (highlighted in Red) You need to 'send' a signal out in order to be picked up as an 'input' on other software like FMLE and I assume Livestream Producer.

I am using Livestream producer. I start the producer program, set input as vMix Video External. I try to set up the vMix external but nothing comes up under renderer. I checked the box but still nothing. I currently use a separate computer to livestream so I know how to use it, but if I can get this to work, I can save lugging an extra computer when we broadcast games. Thanks

The sequence I use is first to ensure the input is coming into producer. To do this, in producer I use vMix Video and stream HD+Medium+Mobile quality. In vMix under the external settings I use, check box for vMix Video / streaming with NTSC 59.94i 1920x1080 settings. The external render box I leave unchecked as it has no effect when outputting to Livestream producer. Next, I turn on the external feed in vMix then start the LiveStream Producer stream. I hope this helps in some small way dear friend. All the best on your endeavors! beloved Watch our LiveStream 24/7 at http://TGBN.tv

I'm still not clear on your set-up... One computer or two? vMix External offers two options, 'Streaming' and 'External'. The 'Streaming' option is for "internal" output to another software on the same computer, such as FMLE or in your case 'Livesteam Producer' (bare with me as I am not familiar with 'Producer' anymore and I have heard of people having issues connecting anything but "Livestream" software/hardware to it) The 'External' option is for "external" output as a video source through your 'capture card' to an external monitor/recorder/other hardware such as another switcher or computer. In either case, the 'External' button has to be activated in vMix. From your comment, I take it that you want to accomplish this with one computer. Is it safe to assume you can get a signal to FMLE (independently without using 'Producer')? If that so, I suspect that the issue is with 'Livestream Producer' and not some setting in vMix. I have also seen instances when the order of 'launch' for each software has an effect, in other words, proper output signal first before it is detected as an input. Hope that helps.

I currently am using 2 computers, one running vMix and the other one running Livestream Producer, but would like to use only 1 computer to do both. The following is what I am trying on the single computer: I start vMix and then start Producer, I get the vMix video external as an option for inputs and select that. It doesn't matter which setting I choose in vMix for renderer or external, I still only get the color bars. If I choose the screen option in Producer, I get a capture of the screen, the vMix normal window so I know that Producer is working. Just can't get anything but the color bars when I should be seeing the output video.

@ wkrasley I believe you should just use one computer. If you run vMix on one PC and Livestream Producer on 2nd PC, you have to output your the video by either: 1. With an external port (ie Blackmagic SDI or HDMI output card or 2. By HDMI monitor output (and in this case you will use the FULLSCREEN option in vMix to send the output to HDMI Monitor 2 and not the External option.
I am not familiar with LiveProducer but I just went thru this same scenario but with a different software. I believe you are wanting to use vMix as a Virtual Camera for Live Producer and in this case you have to run them on the same PC. To make vMix a virtual camera you will uncheck the vMix Video/Streaming option and DO check the External Renderer. Now when you click EXTERNAL it will become a virtual camera.
But if you run on 2 separate PC's then the input into Live Producer PC will have to come in as if it were an actual camera/video source, and in your case you would be outputing the video from computer 1 to computer 2 (not the option I would choose).
I hope this helps.
