I have bumped into a problem that would be solved by 10 bit output.
In ST2110, I have noticed that many of the devices only support 10 bit, and fail with 8 bit.
I'm testing Decklink IP card with vMix, and this is the case currently with many ST2110 receivers. I'm working around this issue with CasparCG, which outputs 10 bit to Decklink and just takes vMix NDI output to the Decklink.
So basically, this case would be solved by just converting 8 bit to 10 bit in the name on compatibility, not in the name of picture quality :)
I know my idea is bad and will not support the efforts of the community trying to get real 10 bit output.

Are you testing with the BMD 100G card. If so, please let me know if the card can only receive ST2110 or is the computer taking it as a standard network card with duo 100G ports and you can also send all sorts of media over it.

I'm testing with Decklink IP/SDI, which supports two channels in or out. It is shown just like any other Decklink card, as a video input/output device in OS, not as a NIC. I believe the same goes for the 100G model, which probably just shows as 8 in or out. Too bad it probably doesn't support more than 8 though...
