I have a question, has anyone who has a dell alienware laptop tried using the Dell Alienware Graphics Amplifier for a capture card? I am thinking of trying this unit and putting a BMD QUAD or DUO 2 in for inputs. Has anyone tried this? on paper it seems like it may work.

1 x PCIe x16 slot
Fits a single full-length, dual-wide, PCI Express x16 graphics card

Has anyone tried this?

I have also been trying to figure out if Alienware Graphics Booster will run a capture card.
The reason we would like to use the proprietary Dell box is for the proprietary cable & connector allowing for more connectivity with thunderbold/usb c ports.
Also no need for thunderbolt 3 to thunderbolt 2 adapter with the newer AW Laptops.

That could be a problem.

Have you asked Dell support if it can run a capture card?

I ended up not doing this. I am however looking at using the graphics amplifier to put a GTX 1060 and give my vmix laptop a boost in performance over my 960M.
