I have been using vMix for nearly eight months but approximately one moth ago when starting External as I usually do, suddenly I am getting this error:
StartStopExternal
Selected Video Format is not supported by this device: bmdModeHD1080i5994
Error HRESULT E_FAIL has been returned from a call to a COM component.
Nothing has changed in our system.

I use VMIX Pro 27.0.0.88 x64 with Backmagic DeckLink Quad 2

Thanks for any help.

Hi. This happens in any port of quad 2 you try to set as external? See in the blackmagic desktop software if something changed in the how the input/outputs are setup.

this happend to me as well a couple of days ago. Open the Blackmagic App (Desktop Video) and check if the settings there have changed. For me it had reset Input 3 and 4 each to SDI 3&4 instead of SDI 3 for SDI 3 and SDI 4 for SDI 4. Changing that worked for me. I assume this comes from a broken update.
