This has been asked a few times in the past, but never answered directly. Besides using a translator like Central Control, what is the trick to setting up a BCF2000 to control faders etc. in vMix?
My controller is recognized, both in Shortcuts and Activators, and I can "Find" the faders/encoders when I create a new shortcut, but no vMix faders move when I move the physical faders, and the physical faders immediately drop to zero.
I saw the same behavior when using this controller on an ATEM, but that issue turned out to be the USB dongles. When I used a CalDigit, a proper breakout unit, it worked just fine. For vMix I'm plugged directly into the tower.
Thanks in advance if anyone has any insights here.

I came across your post while searching. Have you found a solution yet? I have the same problem. Many people say it works, but no one tells you how.

Hi. Yes, I did work out a solution for this. Once I get a chance to set it up again, I’ll get back to you with what I learned. Don’t remember off the top of my head. :-)

Hi Klaus -
Sorry for the delay. I've just set up the BCF for the first time in a while.
Power up the BCF *Before* you launch vMix.
Before you power on the BCF, hold down the left-most button on the top button row. Power up the BCF and keep holding the button until you see "bC" on the screen. This is the mode for vMix.
Now vMix will be able to read the BCF and write to it, but you have to map what you want it to do in the vMix Shortcut and Activator settings. I don't know if you've worked with those before, but creating a Shortcut allows the BCF to change a setting in vMix and creating an Activator lets any changes in vMix reflect on the BCF. So for example if you make a shortcut telling vMix that fader 1 should change the volume for input 1, it will do it, but if you change input 1's level with the mouse, it won't move the fader back. If you make an Activator that maps channel 1's level to fader 1, then the information goes both ways and a mouse move on channel 1 will move the fader on the BCF.
The BCF is really pretty powerful if you want to deep dive into the manual. I've only scratched the surface (no pun intended) but I don't need it to do much. I've mapped the input faders, the master fader, channel mutes on the top row buttons, channel solos on the second row, and I've made the rotary encoders control the bus levels.
I hope this helps. Let me know if you have questions.
Dave
