Hi Members,
I am currently using an 'AJA Io X3' in my Vmix setup. It allows me to capture 4 video streams from cameras via the Thunderbolt port on my laptop, using SDI. I would like to know if it's possible to use, in addition to my 'AJA Io X3', an 'AJA U-TAP SDI' to add an extra camera through a USB 3 port on my laptop ?
Thanks a lot.

There’s no reason why that wouldn’t work. Although if you need more channels you may have been better off getting a decklink quad 2 and putting it in a thunderbolt 3 enclosure.

Hi,
As said before, there is no reason why it wouldn't work.
In your place, I would add a thunderbolt daisy chain device to the aja
a 2nd aja Io3 or an ultrastudio recorder 3g for example

no tool thunderbolt devices sometimes have 2 thunderbolt ports. This allows you to daisy chain the devices. example : Element-Dock_Daisy-Chain_P1080528_Edited_December-28-2020_1500px.jpg (154kb) downloaded 1 time(s).in the case of our friend TV78, an aja io3 + a bmd ultrastudio recorder 3g to have its 5 inputs as long as you do not exceed the maximum flow rate that the PC's thunderbolt port can support AcasisThunderbolt3QuadHDMIChannelVideoCaptureCard_4K60_TP4HD-3.jpg (103kb) downloaded 1 time(s).
