Hey All, very first post here in the forum. I am having some crackling and popping in my vmix recordings and in my streams but I cannot hear them when I am sampling my live productions. When I record in AVI the problem disappears in the recording. It has been suggested it may be a codec issue but I am unsure how to rememdy that. Any help would be appreciated I'm at a loss.

What's your operating system?

Audio interface you are using?

pops and crackling in audio is often a symptom of buffer under runs.. vmix fixes the asio buffer at 960 samples though so you cant raise the buffer to see if that helps.. does the problem always happen or only with more complex projects and system load is higher ?

the potential issue ive mentioned in the forum previously is 960 buffer is non standard in audio drivers and (IMO) has potential to cause issues (like pops/crackling) depending on how different manufacturers make their drivers.. if you look at your control software for the volt (while vmix is open) does the asio buffer say 960 or does it show something else like 768 or 1024 ?

maybe try plugging the interface into a different USB port, it might be some USB resource sharing thing..

Thanks for the response, I would love to look into that but cant seem to find the control software for the volt. Strangest thing. I will keep digging and follow up when I get it sorted, could I run it through an Ableton DAW?

Ok so I tried switching USB ports and it didn't get any better. I ended up taking the Volt back and went back to using my focusrite 4i4. I am still getting a small amount of cracking and I'm not really sure where to go from here. I have optimized windows, put the big sock on my SM7B and that seems to have helped but the problem isnt all the way gone. now, with vMix locking its buffer rate at 960, could that be a problem? I have read others in this forum having problems but with no real fix.
