I don't know if this has been covered before. I've searched but can't find anything.
Is it possible to make sure a sound file is at the beginning without loading it into the preview screen? If not a simple rewind button would be great!

You can set this in the options that it starts over every time it goes live.

Thanks but I don't want to put it in either the preview or output screens. I just want to play it from the play button but need to make sure it's at the start

If you're using hardware (midi, API) to play the audio file, you could use the 'Restart' shortcut in combination with the 'Play' shortcut to achieve this.
