Epiphan recently (3/9/21) announced support for HLS with their newest streaming devices and mentioned that OBS has also added that format as an option. What is HLS? According to Google, HLS uses h. 264 video compression, AAC, or MP3 for audio compression, and transmits streams using the MPEG-TS container format. Video streaming via HLS works by chopping an MP4 video stream into short, ~10-second video chunks. YouTube has added HLS as an option: https://developers.googl...ive/guides/hls-ingestion Caution: This method of obtaining HLS ingestion URLs is a beta feature and may change in the future. The Epiphan demo showed adding a new YouTube livestream and selecting the HLS format instead of the standard RTMP.
