In the most recent vMix Fun Time Live show, Martin and Tim introduced the Live LAN feature in the upcoming vMix 25 Beta, and indicated that it uses HLS to achieve its ends. Incidentally, YouTube requires HLS in order to stream HDR.

Is the implementation of HLS in this feature an indication that we may soon be able to stream HDR to YouTube using vMix?

Best,

Chad

Each provider implements a different method of HLS streaming.
So the HLS in vMix 25 is specifically for the internal playback feature only.

Lessons learned from this could potentially help HLS support in the future, however at this stage the benefits
are few as HDR is not really a well defined workflow for live streaming yet in the industry.
