Not sure if this is an (old) bug, or the way it is supposed to be. But when I tried adding a List input in vMix Basic the error given is "The Input Limit in this Edition has been reached". I think it should rather be something like "This Input type is not available in this Edition".

I actually first read "Limit" as "The number of inputs", which confused me as I had no other inputs. Then I checked the Edition comparison table and realized what actually was the problem.

Furthermore, it would be more logical if feature dependent errors were given when the Input is added in the new menu, not when the user after configurations click "OK".

Thanks.

When I use "solo" button for an audio ( mp3 ) input it is heard in the headphones but also it goes to the "master", too.

Is it the way it was designed ?

My understanding was that "solo" button will only help the monitoring ( headphones ) and not go to the master ..

Later Edit: In fact, the actual sound is not going to the main output or the recording which is ok but the Master indicator shows the solo level.
I was confused by that.

Thank you,

Could you please list the exactly name of the device selected in the audio settings? Is it different to Default DirectSound Renderer?
Also, please open up the audio mixer in vMix, click the i button on the Master mixer and send me a screenshot.

The solo input will not go to the recording, stream or external output.
It will display audio bars in the Master so you can see the levels of what you are soloing.

Found a bug:

Due to the new "Mouse Click Action", when an input is clicked, the "Automatically Mix Audio" kicks in and mutes it when set to preview as it normally would

Other than that, real good job as always!

Hi Martin,

The vMix preview is really nice. With the redesign of the audio engine, is it now possible to have the master audio meter and the meters for Inputs show a little more audio resolution, along with a DBFS scale? Something that looks similar to this would be helpful:

loaded 13.0.0.90 on my Win7 x64 system tonight, and upon launching, received this message, of which I sent the error report.

https://drive.google.com...bWE5SUk/edit?usp=sharing

Audio Engine could not start. Please ensure a sound device has been installed.
Startup.AM_New
Unsupported bit rate.

This was followed by a vMix has stopped working Windows dialog.

I have the built in Soundmax device, as well as a Alesis Multimix8FX installed and my primary in/output device.

What do you have the action set to? Cut is the equivalent of clicking the cut button for example, which will turn on the audio if auto audio mixing is enabled.

While experimenting with v13 I noticed an audio echo, and a couple of some minor issues.

For both v12.0.131 and v13.0.0.90 I have first set Settings to Default and Closed the Preset. Then set Audio Output to an external line output and Recording Audio to a line input (and for v13 Headphones Output to Null Renderer).

Then added a single Input with video.

Playing the video in v12 I can listen to it in the external mixer (taking in the line out from the PC), sounds good.

Playing the same video in v13 introduce a barely noticeable echo as I listen in the external mixer, suggesting some kind of feedback. If I disconnect the audio cable from the PC's line out and connect it directly to the headphone (bypassing the external mixer), same echo. Still echo if I listen in the external mixer and physically remove the audio cable from the externl mixer's Main out to the PC's line input connector. In other words, the echo does not come from using an external mixer.

A few side notes.

In the audio mixer for v12, when the recorder is started, there appears a "MP4" module (if recording to mp4).
In the audio mixer for v13 there is alwas a "Recorder" module, even when not recording.

For v13 (have not tried this in v12) if I click "Default" in Settings I am asked to specify Frame rate and Size. If I set something (PAL, 1280x720), immediately exit, and start vMix again, I am asked for the same thing again. This time, again setting PAL, 1280x720, exiting and restarting, I don't have to specify Frame rate and size.

Set the Headphones output to the same as Audio Output.
vMix will see that they are the same and disable one automatically, setting it to Null Renderer just causes vMix to fallback to the default
audio which may cause duplicate outputs to be heard.

I take it I am the only one to experience this so far???

It appears to work alright on another win7x64 system I have tried.

Not sure what I can do to make it work on my production system.

Thanks, that was the problem. Suggest a warning notice when Audio Output is changed.

BTW, setting Audio Output is one of those changes that requires a restart. So I suggest again that those settings are marked and/or warned for in the settings window.

It looks like the bit rate in settings was set to 32bit on that computer which doesn't work in vMix 13 at the moment.
I'll fix this in the next update, but in the mean time you can track down the config file and delete it or update it manually.
(It is in c:\users\username\AppData\Local\StudioCoast_Pty_Ltd\vmix64.exe*\13.0.0.90\user.config)

I think it's kind of hard to explain, so I just made a quick video for it:

@ Thremir

I think this is by design.
As long as you a have "Automatically Mix Audio" selected, it will behave this way.
If it is un-checked, audio will remain active or live.
