Hi all

What is the best (good) recording format for davinci resolve 16?

I want to record around 50Mbps

This is my guess at a good format?

Seams to be supported?

Thanks

I'd be inclined to use ProRes, which is what I've recorded from Blackmagic cameras/recorders and brought into Resolve.

RecordProRes.PNG (9kb) downloaded 0 time(s).

Thanks for that

It look like ProRes davinci resolve support is not as good for windows? (Kind of makes sense)

Apple ProRes 422 (HQ) has a crazy file size

Apple ProRes 422 (Proxy) is more manageable

Well, for professional post production, ProRes, DNxHD and XAVC-I codec is what everyone uses. Those bitrates are normal in these environments.

After some tests (Version 21) the only format (VC-3 or ProRes) that imports directly into davinci resolve 16 is:

VC-3
MOV(Indexed)

UserPostedImage

For some reason it needs to be indexed?
