I have a Photofinish camera (ALGE-timing OPTIc2) that outputs the „time“ via serial cable. So that comes into one pc at the serial port. Alge provides a Tool „Com to file“ with that I can write a Text and csv File of the running time. Vmix does not let me import that file as database, while it is being written….. An even when I stop the writing I get a list and I would need only the current time. To use a trigger and let vmix show the time is not an option, because I really need that „official“ time of the race. any Ideas how to solve that?

Do you have the Serial protocal details as then you can simply write a little utility to read what coes in and process accordingly like sending it to a vMix title with one of the API commands (is what we do be it is not ALGE). ther are many scripts in .net (and others) available that read serial ports so easy to figure out how , when and what it is sending also

Does Alge have a TCP or UDP output? I use the TCP output from FinishLynx (Alge competitor in the USA) and have TCP service built into a .net 3.5 DLL that vMix can load as a title and FinishLynx sends the clock and other data straight to that.
