I run a sports live stream, which has 13 data sources, although most a just a 1-off (like team line-ups).

However, there is a complicated Excel spreadsheet which runs scores, stats (player, team) as well as all the graphics (URLS) for team logos etc

Do these data feeds get updated even if not being used (and therefore taking up resources) or only when they are in view?

Does data source grabbing have any real effect on CPU/Performance - and if so, should i drop the update down to every 5 seconds or something?

Or am I just worrying for no reason?

I have a fairly meaty PC
Processor 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-12900F, 2400 Mhz, 16 Core(s), 24 Logical Processor(s) / Ram 32gb / NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti

if in doubt:
There is a play/pause button in front of the Update every time setting !!

Every action takes up a bit of processing, there is no such thing as by magic ;-)
