We need to be able to manipulate, in an automated way, the position/rotation/cropping of an input and/or it's layers dynamically by way of data fed from data sources. We request that layers and these values be also exposed via the API.
Use cases are many to create a dynamic show. An easy one could be a progress meter, meter, angle of direction, size of graphic in relation to an input/data value, etc. In our case, our need arose from needing to have a compass graphic with the rotation being updated from a data source. The use cases for this type of work flow are many from sports to fund raisers to weather and on and on.
There have been alternative methods proposed to get around this lapse in functionality, but they all require a library of graphics that get manually triggered or referenced via filename, or a stack of virtual inputs. None of these options scale well nor transfer to additional productions where the graphics and functionality will vary from show to show.
Please consider exposing these endpoints and functionality, thanks!
