My on air light is connected to my WINK. home automation system -

and I use my android to turn it on when I am about to record.

I am wondering - is there any way - to have a trigger somehow turn the on-air light from vmix?

I realize it might be a dream - but I'd love it if the RECORD somehow triggered the on-air light?

the light is a leviton - if that helps.

Any thoughts on this?

I dont know how WINK works, but you can have Vmix send a Midi signal to any Midi device. Can trigger it by almost anything including Stream being active.
Personally I use rtpMidi for midi over network into a controller to give me control and visual feedback (2 way connection).

So if theres a way to get midi into your system, then yeah, definitly possible.

yes IFTTT will do it, you could effectively get vmix to switch on a coffee machine when you go live (maybe with a half an hour delay too)

I've never figured it out but the components are definitely there and I think it would involve using sheets and I think you can get vmix to fill in a data source using a shortcut but you'll see loads of weird stuff you can do it's very hard to navigate without knowing what all the apps and ingredients do first

One possibility would be to create a script file that writes, or places, a file (contents of file is irrelevant) into a Google Drive folder. Then have IFTTT use the "New file in your folder" trigger to affect the action to turn on your light.

X-keys have products for this exact functionality.

See Dan Slider from P.I. Engineering talking about it in the StreamFest Live show:
