Work has begun on vMix 10.1 which will be "maintenance release" covering small fixes in
a few areas and a couple of feature adjustments.

Please submit any major or new features into the Feature Requests forum. They will all be considered for vMix 11

Some of the expected changes are listed below. Bug fixes and small feature changes can be posted here.

* Video Delay saved clips will be consolidated into a single List input. Each item can be renamed/deleted on the fly.
* Tally Light improvements, so tally lights work correctly for inputs inside MultiView or Virtual Sets
* Flash Input supports mouse move, so it can be used as a live drawing overlay (with suitable flash file)
* Support for more flash RTMP input types including adaptive bitrate and auto-reconnect (where supported by stream)
* Streaming feature will support additional CDNs with different stream naming
* Fix for AverMedia Live Gamer HD at resolutions below 1080p
* Dynamic Compression will be added as an option to input audio sources with adjustable Ratio and Threshold settings
* Gain setting will be post-compression so overall volume can be increased for a particular input (useful for speech related applications)
* VirtualInput can be saved to a preset

API Changes

* API XML will include a list of all Text and Image objects in each title.
* These items can then be adjusted through the API using the new SelectedName parameter
* SetImage function available so images within a Title can be changed on the fly. (Useful for player profile titles)

Regards,

Martin

Sounds good Martin, Please remember to work on vMix Title Designer also and add new features such as:
Drop Shadow effects
Blur Radius
Shadow dept
Please fix the font size selection, at the moment i have to highlight the default 64 size and change it by typing in a value.
Need to be more compatible with other font types.
Needs some basic animation such as slide in/out form the right of left or middle, fade, spin in, etc.
Even use similar animation in programs such as MS PowerPoint, we would be able to select these for each input.
And live update for our custom title in use via vMix Title Designer.

I guess all responses should go to Feature Request...

1. Video Delay saved clips will be consolidated into a single List input. Each item can be renamed/deleted on the fly.
This would be a really great feature! We really hate managing 30 inputs.

2. Fix the old Title editor bug when for the first time opening title menu (mouse right button click) on title input no titles show up. We have to go into editor, close it, and then titles show up.

3. Introduce a function (shortcut) - remove all overlays. This would be very helpful for ad breaks to quickly get rid of all graphics.

4. Save input color correction settings with saved video delays, probably, by setting the same values in their settings.

5. Overlay preview is great. Lets go further and introduce Audio preview. You can always see the video feed from camera, but audio is usually the the most frightening thing since you cant really check if someone has altered with audio cable and introduced some background noise. It could also work by pressing the right mouse button and using yellow color.

6. Im pretty sure there is a bug with vMix Video device and Decklink renderer settings, when Decklink renderer is inactive. I have seen color bars several times in vMix Video device, although FMLE and vMix Video device had the same settings. After setting inactive Decklink renderer to the same settings as vMix video device, the problem usually goes away, but I will investigate further.

7. Small, but handy - save in Preset that the input is minimized (mouse right click).

All for now,
Dundurs

When viewing the vMix screen (10.0.0.59) on a monitor in the portrait orientation, the buttons at the bottom of the screen for Streaming, Playlist, Multicorder, Overlay, etc extend beyond the middle of the screen and cover up the button to Start the External output.

Hi Martin!

Please add to 10.1 support for shorter video delays than 1 second. This would help to sync slow hdv source with faster video inputs.

Kid regards,
Jan

We are testing out vMix as a replay solution, so the delay lists would be great. One minor weird thing is that on the live video delay you can playback and use the mouse to actively ramp the playback speed while you click and hold the mouse. In the saved video playback mode, you have to click and then release the mouse to get it to change to that speed. Making the saved videos have an active type of speed ramping ability without releasing the mouse would be great.

Best solution would be delay control for Video like Audio now has (Container->General->Audio Settings)

Hi Martin,

Vmix lets you select "display output" 1 or 2 or 3 or 4.
Vmix could allow select 1 and 2 display output. In the "fullscreen" to be able to show something on each display or output the same in the two display output.

Best resgards

Mauro.

8. When modifying Color adjust setting of Capture input, the settings are not being copied to the Delay input of the Capture input. This results in high color differences during live production when displaying Capture input followed by Delay input.

There are many situations where I know the starting and ending point I want to use as a replay. "Vmix" could have a replay mode manual for this.
In manual mode I could also define how many "replay" I want to make safe. shortcut keys could be used to start and stop recording the replay.

Dynamic compression for audio inputs would be great!!

I've noticed a decrease in video recording performance in vMix 10. CPU usage seems to be higher when recording WMV than it was in prior versions. Could you look into this, or do you already know about it?

I'm not sure if this is a major feature that should be posted in Feature Requests, but would it be possible to add an option for recording in uncompressed AVI (i.e. add an "Uncompressed" option in the Codec dropdown in AVI recording setup)? This would really help me with some performance issues since I wouldn't have to encode/compress the recording on the fly.

Thanks!
Jonathan

Edit: After testing it seems I was mistaken about the recording performance difference in vMix 10. However, uncompressed AVI recording would still be a great feature!

WMV support in vMix 10 is unchanged from vMix 9.
So any increase in CPU might be to do with selecting different encoding settings
in the recording setup, or you migh be using different inputs from vMix 9.

9. When using Decklink capture (Decklink SDI), sometimes after using the input for some time we experience noticeable video delay (around 1sec). After Resetting the input, the problem goes away. It happens pretty randomly. Probably related to Decklink driver, but I just wanted to let you know just in case.

Dundurs,

Do you use audio with the decklink output or just video?

To clarify - the problem is with Decklink capture input, not the External renderer output.
Yes, we use audio and video from the same input (Decklink SDI).

The next release is going to take a bit longer as I am jumping directly to vMix 11.
The beta is a couple of weeks away and will include the following additional features:

* Support for Matrox MXO2 series
* Colour coded categories: drag and drop inputs into separate categories/groups that are hidden away until needed
* List improvements including
- individual item durations
- master countdown duration for entire list
- faster switch time between list items (less than 2 frames)
* Title Text Editor added to web interface, update title text and presets from any browser on your network
* Tally Lights added to web interface, instantly turn any wifi connected mobile phone into a Tally Light!
* Desktop Capture Change Detection added, reduce network bandwidth and cpu usage for sources with low activity

Note, if users are experiencing issues with the External Output in vMix 10, please read the thread below:
http://forums.vmix.com.a....aspx?g=posts&t=1293
As it will need to be resolved prior to the release if vMix 11.

Thanks,

Martin
