I confirm that. And i've noticed when connecting a camera (to computer, capture input added already in vmix) video from this camera is delayed about 1 (sometimes more) seconds.

Isn't it "virtual genlock" issue?

The Virtual GenLock in vMix has a maximum buffer size of 120ms PAL, 99ms NTSC.
vMix also reads frames from the camera as fast as they are given to prevent any possibility of delay.

(This assumes "Use VMR" is not ticked, as VMR adds its own delay and is only intended for diagnostic purposes)

This means the delay must be happening within the hardware or drivers, so a possible solution would be to check for the latest capture drivers?

Martin

There doesn't appear to be a Shortcut or API function to start or stop streaming. It would be great if that could be squeezed into the 10.1 release.

10. Just caused a very dangerous situation. We were streaming using FMLE and recording to SD card. SD card got filled up, vMix displayed error that there is no more space and stopped external, which is really not cool. Using version 10.0.0.59.

Hi Dundurs,

Are you certain the external output stopped as well?
I just did a test where I was recording to file and streaming with external output.
When the disk space run out the streaming continued as per normal.

It might possibly be the issue described in the following thread:
http://forums.vmix.com.a....aspx?g=posts&t=1293

In which case a check of the yyyymmdd.xx.log files in documents\vmixstorage would be helpful.

1. Yes, Im certain, that the External stopped by itself. vMix displayed error, FMLE current fps dropped to 10fps, audio was fine, video was frozen.

2. Actually SD card shows free space of 500 MB, which means it either lost contact with SD card reader or is faulty, which happens from time to time. So the issue might have been initiated by "sudden loss of recording media".

3. vMix log:

Dundurs,

It does sound like the freezing issue which has been fixed in the version of vMix 11 I am currently testing.

The following additional features and fixes will also be included:

* Interlaced Recording and Output under the following workflow:
a) Output Frame Rate set to 50p or 59.94p b) Capture Deinterlacing Set to "Bob" c) Recording set to 50i or 59.94i
This will work for AVI, MPEG-2 and MP4 recording formats

* Fixed title editor bug
* Overlays can already be removed with OverlayInputsAllOff function
* Input collapsed state is saved to preset

Regards,

Martin

Great improvements!

Just to clarify how the External stopped issue happened:

1. vMix displayed error about disk space
2. External button changed to Stopped state (not green)
3. FMLE current fps dropped to 10 fps
4. audio was ok, video froze
5. we stopped FMLE
6. we pressed External Start (went green)
7. we run FMLE
8. video ok, audio ok

11. Any chance you could allow setting different vMix log path from recorded delay storage path? If the storage is out of space, then there will be no logs. Also we use ram disk for saving video delays for faster access and the ram disk gets cleaned up every time the computer is restarted.

The beta is a couple of weeks away and will include the following additional features:

Hi Martin!

Do Matrox support mean that output thru Matrox is also possible? I hope so :)

Kind regards,
