I have a Panasonic AW-UE70 with that's using a username and password. It's streaming correctly, but I haven't been able to get the PTZ controls to connect. The URL I'm using is the obvious one, http://uname:pword@ipaddress, and it works when the camera doesn't require authentication, but no luck when it does. Does anyone have any other ideas?

You want to control the cam using vMix? Have you tried entering the IP address on the PTZ tab for that Input?

Thanks, Tom. I have tried that - vMix connects and controls the camera when the camera has no password set, so I know it can do it. Once the camera has a password set, vMix fails to connect, even when I update the connect string to use the format http://uname:pword@ipaddress . Can you think of anything else?

You don't need a password for PTZ controls. I've got the same camera, just enter the IP address under PTZ and choose Panasonic protocol.

Thanks for the reply, Seb.

It's true that I can use the camera without a password set, but the camera is for public events on a college campus, so I have to set one. When there is password set, though, the PTZ controls in vMix fail to connect. Are you seeing different behavior?

I've got the same issue with my Sony SNC-ZP550.

This camera is connected to the internet, so I have to use Viewer authentication for safety reasons, but then the camera cannot connect.

Is there a solution for this?

I already changed the portnumber of the camera to a non standard number, but because I need remotely acces to my camera's they are portforwarded in my router.

I can measure an increase of network traffic when authentication is turned off.

It's clearly not save to disable this safety feature, there are unfortunately a lot of bots busy on the internet.

Nobody?

Martin, should a different username/password format be used or has the security in these been overlooked?
