Hi all,

I'm trying to control vmix social via another PC on my network. Both the main PC running Vmix and the remote PC are connected to the network using ethernet (not wireless).

I typed the address into chrome on the other PC, but it doesn't gain access. Page times out.

Can someone point me to a guide for how to set this up? Is it likely to be a windows firewall setting on my main PC? Or a router setting? Or something else?

in the help guide it says:
"Note: you may need to configure access to the web interface in your firewall or modem settings to allow remote access."

But I have no idea how to do that...

Hi

is the application vMixSocial already running when you try to access its web interface?

Does it work on the local PC ?

Can you access vMix WebController on port 8088 from the remote computer?

It works on the main PC.
I don't know how to access it on port 8088 - what does that mean?

vMix has 2 web services:
first one is Web Controller, it runs on port 8088 by default
second one is Social which runs on port 8089

I wanted you to try if you can access to WebController from the remote computer
The address is then : http://192.168.1.92:8088/

8088 works, 8089 doesn't seem to...

Might be a firewall issue.

To make sure:
1. deactivate firewall on the vMix host and try again. If OK, check your firewall settings for port 8089 AND REACTIVATE FW ! ;o)
2. deactivate firewall on the remote computer, etc...
thanks 1 user thanked DWAM for this useful post.

Worked a treat. Literally got it fixed 2 minutes before we went live, so thanks a lot!
