Use the Output (aka Active) as a source for Inputs

+1, using the external output option seems to have the same amount of delay as NDI. It's about half second which is a problem for how we need to use the return PGM.

+1. No latency access to Mix 1 would be a great feature. We can already do this on Mixes 2-4, a simple 'Mix 1 Input' is all we want.

I'm currently working around this by publishing output1 to NDI and bringing it back in. But the delay is non-optimal.
In our use case it's to provide a customized program return for VMix call. Our moderator wants to see the chat window of our platform. Rather than having the platform open on a separate device and cause audio and eyeline issues, we're creating a separate multi view that goes to ouptut 2 which is then used as video source for VMix call. But to get output 1 into the input for this multiview we have to round-trip through NDI.

One workaround that I have used for rudimentary output as input is the following:
- Create blank input
- Add trigger to all of the inputs that you are going to use or cut to live:
- OnTransitionIn - SetMultiViewOverlay - Blank input - with value 1,0
- 1,0 - 1 is the layer ID. 0 - it is vMix internal value for output, so it basically just sets output as multiview layer 1
- Your blank input is now your rudimentary output. No fades, overlays etc. but also no latency.
Not the most elegant solution but uses almost no resources and has no latency.

Interesting workaround MartLieb!
I tried, and it works. But as you point out is cumbersome and limiting.
I wonder what Martin thinks of this "glitch", as he is reluctant to implement a feature that might result in an infinite loop ;) I created one, and my vMix just kept running..
Side note, it is easy to create such loops in Zoom when bringing in a pinned participant to vMix and sending it back when spotlighted :D

Would also help manage fullscreen monitoring of portrait resolutions more efficiently (4k 9:16 crop going to stream, rotated 90 degree loopback input going to 1920x1080 fullscreen on a rotated monitor)

++1 I am using in the interim another monitor and placing it by my output monitor that the studio sees and using another Fullscreen Display out with the extra information I want to send. There is no latency and I'm mostly just needing a timeclock but it is a solution. Sadly this won't work for vmix callers. But just sending extra info to another monitor from a given input works for us. Good luck and would love to just be able to have an input that would allow me to put the output into it and then put layers over top of it with timecode and other info etc.. for the studio.
Thanks for your great work Vmix in improving things every month! Andrew

Need it for Confidence Feedback View to show what's live. Have to loop back via NDI currently.
So been able to use Output as part of an Input Layer would be great, even of causing a one frame delay due to it can not be copied In memory before it is actually read would be acceptable to still spare the NDI Processing.

I am currently trying to set this up for a talent monitor to see Program, as well as shot/game clock, and PTZ camera in the press conference. I am going to try looping output back in, but seems like a clunky solution with added latency.
