Hi Richard

just updated to latest release. Found a little bug: it seems the input field does not use UTF8. Here's an example

Bien à toi

would it be possible to put the option to show 00:00:00 or hide when the video is stopped?

By definition a timecode reader never shows 00:00:00 after it's been started.

you're right it's true ... you might think about hiding the timer when the video is stopped?

I use this software to be able to send a video countdown to the remote speakers. I have two video lists that I alternate and a third countdown for guest interventions.
Showing them on the return feed 3 countdowns becomes complex for them ... If you could make them hide when the video is stopped it would be the best thing .....

This software is terrific! Both for what I explained above, and for when a video plays in a multiview, where normally there would be no timign except on the display of that specific input.

I do the same as you for my remote guests but I simply do not display timecodes overlay when it's not required. Just hide this layer in your multiview when no video is playing. You can even trigger the appearance of this layer when a video starts or stops.
There's definitely no need for TimecodeReader to add options.

@ RogerBlu

When requiring multiple countdowns, I believe that running separate instances of the app, as you are doing, is still the best way for now. Adding additional fields to the app would further complicate it.

@ DWAM

salut Guillaume. Thanks for finding that. I do use UTF-8, but unlike french characters which seem to work, that's looks like a latin diacritic character ? Those characters seem to be less forgiving within variables :) I'll fix that in the next update.

merci,
Richard

Hi Richard,
The first congratulations for the excellent software, but I have a question, you can view it on the web or use the program on an android tablet, it would be very good, to be able to see the time on a tablet through the web or app and that tablet remains like a independent monitor.
Thanks in advance Richard.

To run the app on the Web you will need a DDNS server and the latest version of the app (Timecode Reader v10) in first post, which I just uploaded. Previous versions did not allow for text characters in the IP fields.

It is not currently available on mobile devices. Maybe in the future :)

cheers,
Richard

Hi, Richard!

God Bless You, for making this amazing app, it working fine, and it is very useful, thank you!

Could I ask you to add digital indication to the Timecode Delay compensation section of the app like it is illustrated on pic bellow? Now value is not so clear, so it is rather hard to sync timecode with video

Hi Richard,

Thanks for making this app!

I have a suggestion for a feature (or I'm not using the app correctly).
Is it possible to also include Inputs used in the Multiview/Layers when selecting the "Active" option and leaving it blank?

I use multiple video lists, mostly used in PiP's using the Multiview/Layer. But it seems to not show the timecode of those 'composed inputs'.

Thanks!

Technically this might be possible but it depends on your workflow. Do you assign each List to a separate layer or do you change the Input on one specific layer ?

If you are changing the Input on one specific layer, I may be able to add a "layer choice menu". If you are using separate layers for each List, then it is not possible for the app to know which layer to trigger on...

Hi,

I am a huge fan of this app. I would be interested in using this program to feed two different gtzip files in my production. Would it be possible to implement that feature? Either a second field or making the field be able to accept a comma separated list? Thank you for your time.

@kevinmclane

This may be possible, but I'm curious of your use case ? There may be other ways to do this..

We have edited the layout of timecode.gtzip and created two versions. I was just wondering if there would be any interested in an update to be able to target multiple titles. Depending on the show needs, we feed a different title.

One version has "remaining" prominent and one version has "position" prominent. In live shows "remaining" is used to cue presenters. In "sim-live" produced videos streams "position" is used to keep time with a cue sheet of slide advancements and other actions like polls.
