Hi

Has anyone managed to get vmix to send an SRT stream out to the internet to a wowza server and then send it back again? We are looking at a way to do some external processing to a live stream but bring it back in again on low bandwidth connections and having the reliability would be good.

I have managed to get vmix to vmix / vlc to work over SRT but am missing something with getting the wowza server to see it.

any feedback welcome.

Best

Alex.

Create you caller srt output in vMix. DO not use the passphase feature.
On the WOWZA Server create a stream file srt://0.0.0.0:####(port used in vMix) ...assign latercy in properties ...Angain donot use passphase.
Connect to SRT mediacache

THE RETURN..

USE TARGET... Also donot use passphase.
Note..WOWZA currently working on changes to make it more compatible to vMix.

I'm using it with no issues (to Wowza Cloud).

But how can I send a SRT from WOWZA to vMix, if vMix is behind a router, where I can't change the rules

with RTSP I can get the stream from WOWZA, is there also a way to "get" the SRT from WOWZA

If you can't add a port-forward rule, you can't receive an SRT channel.

Sure you can! if you can make the Wowza a listener - or rendezvous. That is what makes SRT awesome
