admin wrote:Work has begun on vMix 12 which is expected to be released early next year. There are also two major new features in the works which will not be revealed until shortly before NAB 2014!
Features
* Support for MOV and MXF files in vMix x64 * Input Triggers - Select one more actions when an Input finishes playback, such as fade to Preview. * Select which inputs from a preset to load and append them to an existing session. * Change name of capture devices * Playback speeds saved in Presets * Instead of selecting audio sources for Recording, Streaming and External Output, they will now all use a single audio source configured from Settings. This will default to "vMix Audio" but a sound card input can be selected if you want to do your own mixing. * XAML support for two storyboards, one for "In" overlay animations and one for "Out" * Set a video delay on each capture input independently of the "Video Delay" feature
Upgrade Note
Customers who have purchased vMix in the last 12 months will receive vMix 12 for free when it is released. All other customers can purchase an upgrade for a fixed price of $59.

Sounds pretty good, Martin. Many "problems" (or inconveniences) in sports production will be solved with vMix 12. Can't wait for beta release... Regards Karsten

Just a thought on this.... Would it be easy enough to use the audio track in the video to use as the marker for tack length? Of course that means the video has to have an actual audio track incorporated, but we wouldn't need to use it in the audio output. Just use it x seconds from the end of the audio track. But then again, I'm not familiar with how video tracks are built, so maybe it's simply I don't understand. The Video software I use separates a video into 2 channels, the audio, and the video. I assume this is the case in most video formats.
