Hi vMix,

I like to use vMix under W7/32 and notify an error "the device is not connected" when i try to open capture device C985 from Avermedia.

I was able to check clean OS installations which gave the idea, that this might be an bug in vMix when open capture on 32/64bit systems.
I always use current vMix version and current Avermedia driver v3.3.x.42 for 32/64bit OS.

I tested:

W8.1/64:vMix32=ok, vMix64=the device is not connected
W7/64 SP1 with KB2533623 due to error SetDefaultDllDirectories: vMix32=ok, vMix64=the device is not connected
W7/32 SP1 with KB2533623 due to error SetDefaultDllDirectories: vMix32=the device is not connected

Because I was always able to open the directx capture device with other programs like vlc, I assume that the Avermedia driver is okay.

Please tell me if this bug is fixable and how you can support me.

I also send a request to tech support.

Thank you so much.
Sascha

Do you have an input going into this card? I have had that issue with those cards when I try to connect vmix to the card without an actual input going into the capture card.

Thank you for the post.

Yes, I always had the same HDMI input in ALL OS test scenarios.
At first when I noticed that issue I try almost "everything". Main source is another PC with 1280x720 50/60 or 1920x1080.
To be sure that HDMI signal is fine I also use my Sony digtal camera with 1920x1080.

In the cases that I wrote I got "device not connected". At this time, when I close vMix an open VLC (videolan) the same directx device it work immediate.

I have no more ideas outside vMix to fix this. Hopefully the support bring light in this issue.

vMix is very cool an I like to buy it!

Cheers
Sascha

:-( still no go for me (device attached not functioning)

vMix is the only one that can't connect to my HDMI input source.
Luckely others can send it to vMix as a virtual cam.

I can confirm that this version 11.0.0.66 works under all clean OS-versions that I am tested in my post before with 11.0.0.62

My post before (this, before editing) was wrong.

Thanks A LOT
Sascha
