Trying to establish a call for an interview and I am getting this message in the vmix call window:

System.Net.WebException: The operation has timed out
at System.Net.WebClient.DownloadDataInternal(Uri address, WebRequest& request)
at System.Net.WebClient.DownloadString(Uri address)
at PhoenixLibrary.WebRTCHost.GetNextMessages()
at PhoenixLibrary.WebRTCSession.MessageThread()

What does this mean?

T.I.A.

Hi John,

Apologies for this. We had an issue with one of our servers that has now been resolved.

Regards,

Martin

Hi,

I encountered the same error message when hosting vMix Call on Feb 28 2019, 13:39 GMT:

Guest1 03:39:04
System.Net.WebException: The operation has timed out
at System.Net.WebClient.DownloadDataInternal(Uri address, WebRequest& request)
at System.Net.WebClient.DownloadString(Uri address)
at PhoenixLibrary.WebRTCHost.GetNextMessages()
at PhoenixLibrary.WebRTCSession.MessageThread()

Guest2 03:39:07
System.Net.WebException: The operation has timed out
at System.Net.WebClient.DownloadDataInternal(Uri address, WebRequest& request)
at System.Net.WebClient.DownloadString(Uri address)
at PhoenixLibrary.WebRTCHost.GetNextMessages()
at PhoenixLibrary.WebRTCSession.MessageThread()

Any information on the cause and how to possibly avoid this?

Hello got same messages while live with two vmix callers. I am on ver.23.0.0.51
I had on Allow only Direct Peer to Peer Connections, checked.

System.Net.WebException: The operation has timed out
at System.Net.WebClient.DownloadDataInternal(Uri address, WebRequest& request)
at System.Net.WebClient.DownloadString(Uri address)
at PhoenixLibrary.WebRTCHost.GetNextMessages()
at PhoenixLibrary.WebRTCSession.MessageThread()

happened to both my vmix calls, 3 minutes apart.

so I suppose it wasn't going thru vmix servers, was it?

Regards,
Henry

Hi Henry,

vMix will periodically check for messages from our call servers.
This does not impact the call in any way, so if you were seeing issues with calls
at the same time it means your local internet connection experienced a brief outage
and was unable to communicate with the calls directly and check our server for messages.

Regards,

Martin

If vMix will periodically check for messages from your call servers, can you say how often it checks? I'm curious since I've gotten these messages sporadically, and wondering if this could be my internet provider, router, etc.
