vMix 21 Preview (21.0.0.32 Beta) is here!

Please Note: This is a preview release for those who like to live on the edge! There will still be some bugs, so it is not recommended for production use.

Will this run along side standard vMix on the same computer? Or does it need to be installed on it's own?

Best,

Ben

I have done a couple of installs on different machine with varying specs. In each case I am getting vMixNDIHelper crashes. THese are machines with the NDI/HX drivers installed. vMix seems to be working fine however and I am still able to bring in NDI and NDI/HX sources.

Best,

It will overwrite an existing install. You can rollit back however by simply re-installing the old version.

Andrew Check that Antivirus is not detecting the file on install. I have my Avast do scans on some of the files on install but nothing to worry about.
Could be why it has crashed as AV stopping the file from running temporarily.

Good idea, but it happens on machines with and without Anti-virus on.

Wow Martin! Fantastic! Thank you so much for all these excellent new features. So many of these are things I hoped vMix would be able to do one day, and now it can!

Many Many Thanks!

Giles.

ask,

See if this NDI-HX driver resolves the issue:
https://forums.vmix.com/...ts&m=52379#post52379

If not, I would be interested in logging in to the machine remotely if possible
to run some diagnostics, it sounds like the HX source is causing the helper app to crash and I would really like to know why!

In customizing the Multiview output in Setup>Otuputs/NDI, for each layout, the available items are two fewer than the selected multiview display...
The first two tiles always show Preview and Output... and then the remaining tiles are available for customization.

For example, in the 16 tile display, there are 14 dropdown lists to configure. In the 4 tile display there are 2 dropdown lists.

The default for each layout should likely have the preview and output as the first two, but as long as we're customizing... the additional flexibility to control all of the tiles could be welcome.

It's not a big thing, but is there a way to configure the entire set of tiles? For example, I might not want to show the preview screen.

+1

Sometimes we don't need preview and output in the multiviewer either, but only the sources.

What's the determination factor for GPU overload? It seems to be set at the 65% utilization mark.

Hi

This is a fantastic update but, the scale for the colour waveform is odd. The lines do not represent 10IRE.

The bottom one is 0 the fourth is 50 and the top, eight line is 100.

Can this be changed to a line every 10 from 0 to 100?

Even better would be -10 to 110 IRE.

Only a suggestion as this is still a fantastic addition to an already great product.

Martin, that seems to have fixed it on the more powerful machine. I still get the failure on a low powered Duo-Core test machine I run SD basic on. Not fussed that the error shows there as it is most likely the low spec hardware. I have upgraded a system that does not have the newtek drivers installed and there has been no issue with that at all.

I had a fully functional Sony laptop with a discrete GeForce GT740M card in it and with vMix beta 21.0.0.34.
Optimus was on.

I updated to the new Windows 10 April 2018 edition just released yesterday (30 april).

Now when I open vMix I get a "Attempt to read or write to secured memory.." (translated from dutch) and D3DStartup.

NVidia driver is the latest (was already on it). Tried to reinstall the driver but with same result.
Send a couple of error reports to you.

I deleted the vmix config file and reopened but it insists on turning on Optimus with again the same error.

I can turn of the discrete adapter and use the Intel one and then it works but then I can't use the GT 740M for encoding.

Friendly greetings.
