I haven't received that update yet but I have unticked Optimus in vMix and instead setup the nVidia control panel to run vMix using the nVidia card. Also made sure I can manually run a program by right clicking and selecting "Run with graphics processor" if needed. Not sure if this helps but no issues with Optimus since I do not use it at all.

hi Martin,
yes now it works. can you explain what enable optimus compatibility will do and why this is important. this is not mentioned in help.

on my msi laptop found an issue with xboost storage boost enabled: vmix usage will go up and down to 100% cpu when enabled. don't know why, never saw this before. xboost is an option in the msi dragon control panel... now running comfort mode, that will let vmix run smoothly and cool, diring long recording sessions...

Optimus compatibility is an old mode that attempted to work around some bugs in the NVIDIA optimus driver.
It is no longer needed with this update, and can remain unticked.

Hi Martin,

When the Waveform/Vectorscope is activated in the Preview monitor of the application, and the Multiview is displayed on a second monitor, there appears to be a problem during any transition between Preview and Program in that Multiview. The Waveform/Vectorscope appears during the transition period on the Multiview Program display window. This does not affect the Master Program output. Any thoughts.

Hi martin,

Thanks a lot for thoses updates on Vmix 21.
I'm trying to understand what's that shortcut doing since there is already Shortcuts named as Set Output External 2 ?

Thanks,

It's explained in the documentation : https://www.vmix.com/hel...utFunctionReference.html

Basically SetOutput2 = SetOutputExternal2 which existed long before vMix brought OUT3 and 4. I believe it's kept for compatibility reason.

Thanks Martin,

So many improvements. I always felt that any advanced color correction would be beyond the scope (specifically cpu requirements) of vMix. This is a powerful addition.

And of course I am so happy to see one of my suggestions incorporated -- including the input number of all dropdowns.

vMix gets more and more amazing! So happy to have it and to continue supporting it.

I posted a new topic by mistake when it should have posted a reply in this thread.

I may have found a bug or at-least strange behaviour on my lap top for vMix 21...

Just tried to add a single Mp4 video, duration = 30 seconds. The preview doesn't show the thumbnail correctly nor will it render correctly in the Preview or Output.

Video clip plays perfectly in all my other media players, editors and in Wirecast v9.

I can send you the MP4 clip via WeTransfer for vMix support to try.

vMix 21.0.0.35 (latest beta)
Windows 10 Pro x64 Build 1803.

Just turned off "High input performance mode" and that fixed this issue.

According to Windows, the NVIDIA graphics is 4GB.

vMix 21.0.0.36 beta has been uploaded!

http://cdn.vmix.com/download/vmix21preview.exe

Changes/Fixes:

* Fixed glitch when transitioning from preview to output on MultiView when Waveform/Vectorscope is enabled
* Disabled fade in effect on all tool tips (the little text helpers that appear when moving the mouse over buttons and controls).
This should resolve the GPU spikes on Optimus laptops.

Performance can be further improved on laptops by disabling all on screen effects:
1. From start menu type in sysdm.cpl and press enter
2. Go to Advanced Tab and click Settings under the Performance section
3. Select Adjust for best performance
4. click Apply

New low latency mode?. Whats the improvement?. My render time is usually 2-4ms. 1440p@50p
Did you make any comparison between old and new?.

Colour Correction tool screen still showing WARNING GPU Overloaded

Testing Steps

1.Downloaded the latest version of vMix 21.0.0.36 Beta Release.
2.Changed settings on laptop to disable all onscreen effects as mentioned by Martin
3.Rebooted laptop
4.With nothing connected to laptop (no cameras or USB devices) Started vMix 21.0.0.36 double clicked on first blank input
in new window clicked on Colour Control section. Than turned correction off by toggling ON button at top of screen.
Next I hoovered cursor over any of the LIFT controls and the Render Time raced to high number followed by red GPU Overloaded warning
at the bottom of the screen.
Note - Tested using built-in touch pad and again with USB mouse and same behavior

- I also had the task manager open in the background to show the GPU performance does not seem to move

I have attached a screen shot to the bottom of this post to show the error and high rendertime...

Martin if you need me to do any more testing, this is a backup system laptop that is only used for streaming if our main maching goes down. So I can run any test you need.

MSI - GE62 7RD

--- Posted Yesterday in wrong section of the site so all the information is together ---
May have found a bug, or it is limited to my laptop.

When I take any input and go to the colour correction screen with it turned on or off and quickly move the mouse over and around the the correction sliders I get the Red GPU Overloaded error in the lower section of the screen and the render time spikes.

I took a couple screen shots as it seems strange that the GPU process does not really move in windows task manager if anything it goes down while wiggling the mouse/pointer over any of the colour correction controls.
Screenshot (2) not moving mouse/pointer
Screenshot (5) moving it around and changing settings

Same happen in both 21.0.0.34 and also just tested same behavior in 21.0.0.35

I noticed this behavior on my mobile laptop setup with no cameras connected or with cameras connected and even in a new project with only colour bars.
