Hello Community
I'm quite new with vMix and Streaming at all. I work in a little Company and we'd like to dub a stream of an other provider. We have the permission and we will get access.
But we'd like to test that beforehand. So my goal was to set up an devloping system with vMix in the test version. I did a lot of research. Anyhow i could not get it to work.
First i tried to setup a stream in youtube and then to get that stream into vmix. But I could not set the rtmp-link provided by YouTube as Input in vMix.I assume it's because YouTube blocks the access on the rtmp-server.
After that I tried to setup a stream on streamzilla, which was no problem. But when tried to set this stream as inputsource for vMix, it did not work either. I'm not sure what i did wrong. Here are the URL's I tried to get the connection going:
- rtmp://wos.in1.streamzilla.xlcdn.com/live/sz=livenet=event02?[user]&[password] - rtmp://wos.in1.streamzilla.xlcdn.com/live/sz=livenet=event02 - rtmp://wos.in1.streamzilla.xlcdn.com/live
I hope this is not a very newbie Question. But I found it really difficult to find the right information. Altough I checked any vMix resources (Help, FAQ, etc.), I could find.
Thanks for any respone. Thomas

Hi Thomas You are confusing the address for publishing a RTMP stream TO a server with the address (URL) for playing this stream FROM the server. Check the doc here : http://www.vmix.com/help19/Flash.htmlYou can PLAY any video from YouTube in vMix using the Flash/RTMP input type with this syntax : http://www.youtube.com/v/VIDEO_IDAs of streamzilla, I'm not sure they provide the RTMP protocol for PLAYING the video. As the case may be, do not use the codes for ingestion, but the URL they provide to play the video Hope this helps Guillaume
