I am running VMix Desktop Capture on an Alienware Alpha running a application.

I am seeing 28-30fps on the Capture when running it but when I bring it into VMix it is not achieving the same frame rate, it is jumpy.

I am running the NDI through Cat5e to a TP-Link Switch to TP-Link Powerlines then to the VMix Machine - could the issue be with the powerlines? What would be the best way to get the fastest connection with no loss in framerate? If I was to reconfigure to plug the VMix machine and Alpha into the same Switch would that provide the best solution?

The VMix Machine is:

MSI GT72VR 6RE(Dominator Pro)-234UK
Intel Core i7-6700HQ Quad Core Processor
17.3" Full HD Screen
Microsoft Windows 10 Home 64-bit,
16GB DDR4 RAM
128GB SSD + 1000GB HDD
Dedicated GeForce GTX 1070 8GB Graphics

Yes clearly

Yes clearly

NDI requires serious network setup.

If I was to use something like this and had all NDI sources and also VMix machine plugged in would that be the best solution?

Yes. You need to plug all your PCs on the same network with a gigabit switch and use at least CAT5e cables. CAT6 is better.

This switch should be perfectly fine.

What PowerLine model? I've got TP-Link Powerline units model TL-PA9020P, which are rated at 2Gbit/s speed. However, in real-world performance I get around ~250mbit/s speeds. Powerline and NDI can work, but the actual performance of these units is typically much (MUCH!) lower than what they are rated. If you have any way to get a direct Ethernet connection, instead of Powerline, go that route. I would recommend Powerline over wireless connections.
