Hi Martin,
I have recently started using shortcuts and the web interface. This is a very cool feature! I was wondering what your thinking is on a few issues I have with shortcuts.
First, I discovered that shortcuts are saved in the config file. It would save work if they were added to the preset file. That way they could be moved to another machine without having to re-enter everything. What do you think?
Second, the amount of text on the keys in some cases can be unnecessary. The type of transition and the target of the transition which are the second and third line could be each toggled with a check box, I think. This would make for less clutter on the web interface.
Third, what do you think of the ability to set each button color independently?
Here is my usage scenario:
I am using vMix to play back multiple stills and/or videos to feed a big projector. The operator was using just the laptop with vMix originally but had the typical problems of laptop mouse uncertainty. I discovered the web interface and using it on an iPad and things got much better! I am just trying to make the interface less cluttered and easier to set up. We will usually edit the videos and stills on a machine in the studio and then test everything in vMix and finally build the shortcuts. All of our elements and the preset file are stored in Dropbox on that machine. Everything syncs to the laptop which is used at the show. If the preset also contained the shortcuts, it would be quite seamless.
We just did our biggest show of the year last Saturday! vMix was used once again to play back all stills and video to a Panasonic 22,000 lumen projector onto an 32' x 18' screen.
Karen, the operator, thanks you immensely for the FTB button that we asked for last year!!
I hope you will take my ideas into consideration and let me know what you think.
Tony
