Hi,

Yesterday, I paid for and installed a Vmix license, upgrading from the 60 day trial. But, I had some driver problems today and had to do a system restore to a time when I just had the Vmix trial running.

Now, when I try to run Vmix, it won't run. I've since de-installed and re-installed, but I get the "Vmix has stopped working" message seconds after I try to tun it.

Any ideas how I can get things running again?!

Many thanks!

Hi,

What operating system and graphics card do you have?
Sounds like a potential graphics card issue so I would suggest making sure the latest drivers are installed.

Hi Martin,

Wasn't expecting a reply so quick...it's 2.35pm here in the UK...must be middle of the night for you...?!

I'm using Windows 7 on a Sony Vaio laptop. I'll have a go with the graphic card drivers now, but I wondering if it's something to do with the license?? As I said I recently bought and inputted a licence key and I suspect that's got lost when I did the restore? I can't re-enter those detail because the software crashes a second after I try to run it!

Thanks,

Neil

Hi Neil,

If it were a license or other issue there would be a vMix branded error message with more information.
The fact that it crashes with a windows error message indicates some kind of file corruption somewhere.

Are you running vMix 8?

Martin

Hi Martin,

You were right!

Today I allowed windows to do all it's updates again including service pack 1 and vmix 8 is working again now.

I had to remove and add drivers for my hauppage capture card and, fingers crossed, we're back in action. No blue screen so far...

Thanks for all your help.

Neil
