Instead of the X-Keys then, try something like the Novation launchpad. http://global.novationmusic.com/launch/launchpad#You could likely get the X-keys to work with some obscure key sequences that you would likely never key in. Another option is to create scripts in something like Autohotkey that can be executed by x-keys that sends API commands via the web interface.

Like I said, we have the Akai APC 40, but they don't like the rubbery buttons. The AutoKey is too complicated. Was hoping there was some great solution to use the X-Keys with the "find" capabilities in vMix16. I am now looking at computer keyboard to midi software. Steve

X-Keys don't work like traditional keys, and therefore can not be discovered like regular keys.
I have a a SteelSeries Apex gaming keyboard that has all the normal keys, including the multimedia keys, with an additional 22 keys that operate like the Xkeys. There are no traditional keys that they mimic. They are used for macros, just like the X-Keys keys.
The onlu other thing you can do is use the X-Keys SDK, and program your own interface, but then that's going to be much harder than writing an Autohotkeys script.

* Fixed Key/Fill bug where some graphics cards would lead to semi-transparent sections that should be opaque.
Just doing some testing with our Xpression. It is much better, but still not fully opaque. Thanks, Steve

Hi Steve,
My suggestion would be for you to use X-keys along with JustMacros. It is a macro software that can be used to control just about anything. The author, John Bengston, is in the process of adding direct vMix support. I am in the process of building macros myself for tightly integrating our ATEM switcher and vMix. It is very powerful but requires a learning curve. There are examples on YouTube and the forum atemuser.com has a section devoted to JustMacros.
Please elaborate on doing ESPN with vMix!!? We were looking into doing football for a local college on ESPN3 and they required us to use a Ross Carbonite switcher and a Ross Expression graphics system. Just wondering how you pull it off with vMix?
Hope this helps you integrate X-keys into your system,
Tony

There might need to be some calibration done on the key levels at the source. Put the key input to output and click the snapshot button at the bottom of vMix to save as an image. Then analyse the white levels of the key to see if they are set to full (255) values in opaque areas. You can email me the graphics (snapshot both key and fill) to see what might be happening with the levels.

To confirm regarding the X-Keys, there is built in support for most models in vMix 16, bypassing the keyboard interface software completely. To use them simply create a shortcut and click Find and press a button, it should detect it as long as the xkeys was plugged in prior to starting vMix.

I am trying to crop a "Camera" input . I attach a screenshot where you can see the crop slides are in the middle but the input is still full on the screen. https://drive.google.com...amU5aU0/view?usp=sharingWindows 8.1 vMix 16.0.0.65 Nvidia 870M

What have you assigned as Overlay3 in that inputs MultiView? Is it the original raw camera input?

Could you try a simple test, one camera input and one input with the camera set to Overlay3 and try the cropping and post a screenshot. THanks

I discovered that the problem was coming from the Settings -> Performance -> Disable Effects On Input Previews Somehow, that option was checked. Too many tests and sometimes I forgot to get back with all settings after testing sessions. Sorry about false alarm. Thank you for the closer look. Still the "Reset All" button seems to not work but this is not really a problem.

I haven't used x-Keys since I left windows XP simply because it wasn't as well supported with the UAC in vista and above, but that said, I have tried to "find" my macro keys on my SteelSeries APEX gaming keyboard without success. Much like the XKeys, I can assign macros to the keys via the SteelSeriesEngine3 software. In order for it to work with vMix, I need to create an executable script that tells vMix what to do, and assign it to a key through the SteelSeries Engine, or assign a key sequence, again like X-keys, that is sent when key is pressed.
