Midi disconnects. We have an Akai APC 40. Works great when it works, but some controls randomly stop working. But if I reassign the control that stops, to the same control, it starts working again.

I will try an Akai mini tomorrow.

Sounds like the Akai is changing channels or something like that.
When detecting the control again through find, check to see if the channel is different to what it was before?

Nope everything is the same, all I have to do is just reassign it, and it be becomes alive again. It is random, all of a sudden one of the buttons stops and if I reassign it starts again.

In that case I am stumped as the Shortcut settings are just stored in XML.
Clicking Edit on a Shortcut and then clicking OK will only update that XML it doesn't refresh
or change MIDI in any way...

It's possible the settings are being cleared somehow but then if you go to Edit the shortcut the Channel and Note
would be different.

Hello Martin,

Not sure if it is too late for such feedback (I was on vacation) but here are my findings and suggestions after testing the
Korg nano controllers ( nanoKONTROL2 and nanoKEY2 - links bellow).

No bugs found.

But it will be great if we can set a velocity number near the "channel" and "note" while setting midi shortcuts.

That way we can use toggle type buttons on the pad.

The benefit (with nanoKONTROL2 at least) is that we'll have visual feedback (led light) on the status of the command. Each button has status led.

For example, we'll be able to see which module is muted or the status of the recording just by looking the pad.

Another way to have visual control on the pad (particularly on nanoKONTROL2) is to use its ability to receive messages from vMix about the led status of a particular button, but probably this is too much work to implement.

P.S. - This is a great great release anyway. I have so many uses in mind that I can't wait to put them in production.

http://www.korg.com/us/p...ts/controllers/nanokey2/

http://www.korg.com/us/p...ontrollers/nanokontrol2/ ( I assigned the top knob to "gain", the slide to "volume", S to "solo", M to "mute" )

Hi,

The added API features in vMix 16 are very useful! I should mention there is a tiny issue with the new SetZoom method that uses decimal values (1=100% and 1.5=150% etc...). This method depends on the regional settings of Windows. On a Dutch Windows PC the value 1.5 is parsed to a value of 15 (1500%) in VMix. Development could fix this issue using a InvariantCulture parameter when parsing the &Value string to a decimal value.

Cheers,
Martin909

I'm having a problem on vMix 16 (.60):

On the Basic version, when I load 4 videos works OK and on the 5th it shows the popup saying to upgrade (everything Ok until now). BUT when I close any channel and add a 4th video again, the video has no preview, no sound and does not play. I can only see the length.

If I remove the same video and insert again or restart the app, works fine.

UPDATE: I let vMix on standby on the background for a few hours and when I came back 2 channels didn't want to play. It was simply black. After playing other working channels and coming back to the "broken" ones it works again.
I'm just testing with simple 720p MP4 files and using an SSD, i7 5820K, 16Gb DDR4 and nvidia GTX 970, Windows 10

Other thing that I'm experience is: when vMix starts and I move quickly the MIDI console (and the values are not close) it just stops controlling vMix. Even if I restart the program, vMix still doesn't answer. Only restarting the computer solves it (not even unplugging and plugging the USB cable).
This happens when I use a preloaded preset. In a new project, works fine.

Do you have the Korg MIDI driver installed? If yes, uninstall it and just use the Windows standard MIDI driver.

Could you install vMix 15.0.0.88 and run the same tests?
It sounds like it could be a Windows 10 driver issue.

It's unfortunate vMix 16 is being released around the time a lot of users are upgrading to Windows 10
as hardware problems may end up being misdiagnosed as a 16 bug.

As to MIDI, I removed as suggested and no problems until now :)

I have installed the 15 version and will try the same examples.

Similar to my current issue. it seems to be the same buttons that lose control. If I switch the the function to another set of buttons, they work fine, they are just not where I want them.

The 4 buttons above the play, stop, rec on the APC 40 pro, which I want to use for transitions. No matter what I put there if I press a bunch of other buttons quickly these will stop. If I reassign them, exactly the same, they will work again for a while and stop again.

????

We might have to get a hold of an APC40 to try it out.
To confirm do you have the old model or the new MKII?

I have a APC Mini. Any ideas on how to send feedback from Vmix to illuminate the buttons?

I have had no problems with the midi dropping out. Training VMix is easy enough, but I have no idea how to tell it button 1 has been activated. Not sure what I'm missing.

Hi Martin,

Playing around with version 16.0.0.60. Can not change the size of the overlay (PIP) or location of overlay in the overlay settings, in that, the overlay does not reflect the changed size or location of the PIP in the output window.
Ha,ha. Try and say that 5 times real fast.
Cheers,

~George

I noticed that too! In the attached file, the flag should be cropped to the input bounds, and is not.

Seems to work fine for me George, at least the results display and take effect after the "OK" button is clicked, but there is no 'live' or 'instant' feedback on any of the vMix UI screens, if that is what you are referring to. You kind of have to size by 'guesstimate' and through trial and error on the Overlay Pop-up window (Red over Blue reference screens).

vMix only receives input from MIDI devices at this time, it does not send feedback.

My small work around for this is to use Bome SendSX to light up the buttons on my Launch Control. It's static only because of missing feedback from vMix. But it helps to find the buttons in the dark and to identify the function. The attached picture shows my set-up for 6 inputs (green), 1 overlay (amber) and the audio input (red).
