Hey y'all, I have recently been having issues with my vMix and computer. My vMix crashed right before a show today. I went into event viewer -> Windows logs -> application logs. I see the application crashing event for vMix.
It reads:
Faulting application name: vMix64.exe, version: 27.0.0.69, time stamp: 0x65cadaa3 Faulting module name: avcodec-58.dll, version: 58.35.100.0, time stamp: 0x6062a71a Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x000000000025d949 Faulting process id: 0x0x466C Faulting application start time: 0x0x1DBAD5575538ED1 Faulting application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\vMix\vMix64.exe Faulting module path: C:\ProgramData\vMix\vc\x64\avcodec-58.dll Report Id: ee9983e8-2119-4b5c-8009-d89dc7296a44 Faulting package full name: Faulting package-relative application ID:
I'm not technically savvy enough and haven't found great resources that point me in the right direction towards the potential problem. Any guidance or assistance is appreciated.

Hi,
Unfortunately in most cases this specific error is due to a fault in some Intel 13th and 14th gen processors. So my guess is you have a 13xxxk or 14xxxk processor installed?
If so the only fix is to get the CPU replaced under warranty.
Regards,
Martin vMix

Hello, I got the same issue 'till few weeks. Vmix crash "by itself" every xx minutes even you don't do anything manually.
My system runs -- Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-14700KF 3.40 GHz, If I understand your answer, that kind of cpu should be the problem.
As the sytems ran perfectly 'till november 2024 (24/7) I'm wondering if you think that the CPU issue you mentioned could appears after some monthes so due to lifetime using ?
Here comes the system error (in french)
Nom de l'application défaillante : VMIX64.EXE, version : 28.0.0.41, horodatage : 0x680a57d3 Nom du module défaillant : avcodec-58.dll, version : 58.35.100.0, horodatage : 0x6062a71a Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x000000000025e658 Identifiant du processus défaillant : 0x10EC Heure de début de l'application défaillante : 0x1DBB9BD2B7BF7A4 Chemin de l'application défaillante : C:\Program Files (x86)\vMix\VMIX64.EXE Chemin du module défaillant : C:\ProgramData\vMix\vc\x64\avcodec-58.dll ID du rapport : b8a4c2cd-9c4e-44b9-87d3-681720883958 Nom complet du package défaillant : Package défaillant – ID d'application relatif :

Yes, this specific Intel CPU fault starts to appear slowly over time, so we have seen many start to fail after many months of usage.

With all respect if this happens, the reference system "topaz" should not be any more as reference if there is any chance after some months the 13900kf cpu die and hang the users.

Intel's guidance is if you buy one of these CPUs today, and have the latest motherboard bios updates, they will not degrade over time. Additionally, Intel will replace any already degraded CPU under warranty. https://community.intel....-Root-Cause/post/1633239That said, we are working on new reference systems as the CPUs are starting to become out of date anyway.
