Hello, when I activate the “Flatten Layers” function, the merge does not work anymore, it makes a fade like when it is not the same source, if I deactivate it, it works fine.

Yes, that is correct.
When you Flatten Layers, you are effectively combining them into a single image, thus Merge will have no effect as the layers no longer exist as far as rendering is concerned.

I mean when that font already “Flatten Layers”, put it in another font to make a split screen,

Yes that is correct, as the flattened input is a single image now, so there is nothing to merge.

This isn't me requesting this, but, just asking if it would be feasible at some point in the future, since the discussion is already ongoing.

Would it--at some point in the future, not this release--be possible for the Merge transition to use some sort of image analysis rather than layer recognition?

Or is that altogether outside the potential of modern computing and/or vMix in general?

Again, not asking for it, just asking if it's even feasible.
