Hi Guys I have a cctv system which has an ip address and i can see it on the network . I'd love to be able to bring in the cameras.
They are not ip based .
So I could switch it on the cctv system and choose which one I want.
Has anybody done this or could recommend the best way to do it?
Desktop capture or some better way? I have reserved it's ip address in my router so I know that will not change.
Thanks
Cormac

Two options - if the cameras themselves are IP, you may be able to get them to produce a separate, second stream to the one you are recording on the existing DVR/NVR - most cameras allow two.

If the cameras are anything but IP (analogue, TVI etc) then you may well still find that the DVR has a streaming URL for each camera - as an RTSP stream. These are normally not well documented and you may need a little googling or forum hunting to find the exact URL. The same thing is often used for a remote 'spot monitor' (to give you a google headstart).

Good luck - report back if you get it working!
